I saw how much diapers affect the environment on a Good Morning America episode and couldn’t believe it!  The story was about our global footprint and how we impact our world.  Now don’t get me wrong, I do not believe in global warming and all that Al Gore stuff, but I do believe that our great Creator placed us in a beautiful world that was made especially for us.

I believe that it is our Christian responsibility to be good stewards in the world God gave us!

That said,  I have read articles about baby potty training on the No Greater Joy website (see my link) and so I went to my tried and true favorite site, the Kent District Library.  I read The diaper-free baby : the natural toilet training alternative byGross-Loh, Christine.  New York : Regan, c2007. and after careful consideration decided to give it a try.

Well, I started potty training my 18 mo old today.  After 4 wet underwear and one poo (only two minutes after I took the diaper off!)

 In the first hour -

I’ve decided to do it part time :)

Some Moms have commented that this only trains the Mom not the baby but I figure, who cares as long as I don’t have to buy diapers, I am happy!!  So tomorrow is another day, hopefully a better one!

I also found a cool site to determine your economic global footprint ~ Check it out!

http://www.footprintnetwork.org/index.php   It was very interesting to take the quiz!

TODAY I AM THANKFUL FOR . . . DOVE CHOCOLATES.

And that I had a buy 1 get 1 FREE coupon from Savings Angel.  ( But I really like CouponMom.com and I think it may do the same thing, almost as Savings Angel and it is FREE! I’ll be trying it out next week.)

One for the baby book . . . I put 18mog and 4yob in bathtub for Saturday night bath.   I even put bubbles in to make it fun!  I am coming in and out putting laundry in and such when 4yob says “mom?  Mom?! MOM!!”  When I took a look there were little brown floaties (poo poolers as my good friend calls them)  So I scooped the kids out and set them on their dirty clothes on the floor while I not so adeptly tried to catch those speedy little floaters!  Quite difficult to see with bubbles!  Got one! and then another!! and flushed them and was on the third and last little bugger when my 18mog muttered, “Uh Oh”  I looked to see that she obviously hadn’t finished and had done a number 2 on the pants on the floor and down her leg. . . Back into the tub she went to soap her off and into the toilet went the renegade poo from off the pants.  And so did her socks!!  Dropped the pants on the floor and fished the socks from the toilet.  Realizing too late that the dirty pants now made the floor dirty, too!  While mopping up the floor the 4yob started to make gagging noises . . . typical male . . . can’t handle seeing a little poo!  so I told him not to look, cleaned off 18mog, drained the water, cleaned the tub and started all over again with our Saturday night bath.  You just gotta laugh!!! (or go crazy!)
